Hamish Williams’ various roles in media have seen him work as a senior producer and field journalist for TVNZ, TV3, RNZ, NBR, Stuff and Mediaworks, covering news stories from all corners of New Zealand.
Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the next generation of movie makers and creators at the New Zealand Youth Film Festival (NZYFF) Award Ceremony! This special event honours the incredible talent, creativity, and vision of young creators from across the country, showcasing the very best in emerging New Zealand cinema.
From thought-provoking documentaries to innovative short films, this year’s finalists have pushed boundaries, challenged perspectives, and brought powerful stories to life on screen. Tonight, we come together to recognise their achievements, award excellence, and inspire the future of our industry.
Expect an evening filled with film, inspiration, and celebration - complete with mini screenings, industry guest appearances, and the announcement of this year’s award winners.

Our Curators
Sally Campbell – Head of Production (South Pacific Pictures)
Sally Campbell is an experienced producer with 30 years in the industry. She has history as a Line Producer, Producer and Executive Producer. She has produced five series of the international television series Power Rangers and Legend of the Seeker , and Line Produced Evil Dead. More recently Sally has produced four series of the award winning The Brokenwood Mysteries.
From 2001 to 2003, Sally was the Head of Production at South Pacific Pictures and was instrumental in the producing TV drama such as Mercy Peak, Mataku, Being Eve, Shortland Street and the internationally acclaimed film Whale Rider. Sally served as Executive Producer on Mataku, Being Eve and Shortland Street, and was Executive Producer/Line Producer on Mercy Peak.
Sally returned to SPP as Head of Production from 2019 and has been the Executive Producer on The Sounds, Head High, Educators, Mean Mum’s, Duck Rockers, the last four series of The Brokenwood Mysteries and most recently produced the hit TV series Far North.
Guy Williams – Senior Visual Effects Supervisor (Wētā FX)
The VFX Supervisor leads the work of the creative teams, and makes sure the director’s vision is fulfilled.
A four-time Academy Award® nominee, Guy joined Wētā FX in 1999 to work on The Lord of the Rings, and has worked on a swathe of high profile projects, including Guardians of the Galaxy and The BFG.
Andy Taylor – Visual Effects Producer (Wētā FX)
As Visual Effects Producer, Andy leads the production side of a project, working closely with the client and the VFX Supervisor to deliver the project.
Andy’s work on the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man earned him a Visual Effects Society Award nomination and a win in the AACTA awards.
Erin Hill - VFX Production Manager (Wētā FX)
As VFX Production Manager Erin oversees the production schedule to ensure we have the right crew, hit creative and delivery milestones, solve problems as they come up, and help to keep the show on budget.
She started at Wētā FX in 2010 as an Animation Coordinator on The Adventures of Tintin and most recently worked as Production Manager on Better Man.
Clare Burgess - Marketing Content Producer (Wētā FX)
As Marketing Content Producer, Clare creates content for social media, and produces awards reels and conference talks.
Clare started at Wētā FX in 2001 and has worked in a number of roles including VFX Producer and Crew Manager. Clare is also the author of ' 20 years of Imagination on Screen - celebrating 20 years of Weta Digital' and has recently directed a documentary for RNZ.
